Welcome back, hope your April was swell. Orchestra has successfully tanked itself by creating a Minecraft Server that has depleted productivity by 900% and thus this will be the last newsletter for 6 months as no progress has been made by any musician here. (joke)
I was very, very happy and encouraged by the absolutely bountiful releases we had this month, it truly made a change in the pace of the year for myself and the general vibe of Orchestra widening as so many new artists have debuted in the last month. What I want to emphasize is debut- most of what you’ve heard this month is brand new stuff, and these artists are only beginning. God knows what directions will be taken, what they will take on, and what we can expect in the future. One day, we’ll all be thinking- how the hell did we even live without hearing that song? what is life without that song?- and it’s not even here yet.
Other news- you can watch the first Orchestra held live music event entirely within our Minecraft server (orchestra.modrinth.gg, vanilla 1.21.5), a headliner show with Skulltalk, with openings Gabe Connelly and Cash Elijah.
APRIL RELEASES
Liverpool based sexy-boys-who-are-sexy-pop-makers are back with a fresh, daring new single that showcases their skill to take the face of the song- beautiful harmonies, excellent mixing & productions, and brilliant pieces all around from every instrument & vocal. It makes me jealous that I can’t see them live, being halfway across the world but hey- if you’re in Liverpool, you’ve got multiple chances to check them out sometime soon. They’re other-worldly talented and completely underrated. Put them on next time your girlfriend comes over.
Check out their Instagram for live dates.
Turkish solo project erleichda! debuts with a funky and windy instrumental rock track that’s catchy as hell without any words yet with a few listens you’re spitting out the melody at random parts of the day. This song is such a damn ear-worm and frankly every time I listen to it- it’s not one time, I loop it for a good half hour before I move on. It’s just so easy-listening, funky & enjoyable. With great success, erleichda! finds themselves catapulted into the scene and eagerly awaited on for more.
Edas Saltenis makes his long-awaited return to the scene with his new band, The Right Era, a band with a powerful we-do-what-we-want attitude. Thin Threads is an absolute banger with a whole lot of love put into it, and absolutely delivers on the long hiatus of Edas and the promised “peak” that was prophecized so long ago. The Right Era will be quickly returning in May for a full EP, so keep your eyes on the horizon, you’re living in the right era to listen to The Right Era.
Riveira Bailey - Fleeting Planet (Riveira’s Version)
Riveira, ever shifting timetraveller pulls from the future to rip a song from a project that doesn’t even really exist yet and produces his own fresh version (fitting the theme of not giving a damn about what the calendar says the date is)
of Fleeting Planet, with some saying it might actually be his best yet. But regardless, the more important debate- Is he still using a Lego Rockband microphone to record everything? Like are we just going to move past that? Okay.
Anyway, go listen. There’s nothing like a good new Riveira Bailey track to set the weekend up to be a good one.
Wilt Theory - bugbed (ALBUM)
After a full year of development, trials and tribulations, solo project Wilt Theory debuts with the album ‘bugbed’- a blend of gothic, disoriented and malicious intent with a slight touch of psychadelics. ‘bugbed’ is incredible, in my personal opinion, and it really finds its space quite easily which a feat that is not easy to accomplish. Upon first listen I understood how it fit into my life, and I welcome it with open arms. Avery is an incredibly talented musician and this album showcases it in full force, with incredible twists and turns and never failing to keep a full immersive experience all the way through its not-long-enough runtime and honestly, just sounds so damn good. I love it. Check it out, will ya?

APRIL SONG OF THE MONTH
“The Best of Me” by Lest!
What does Lest have to say about receiving this honour?
"I honestly can't believe this. The Best of Me, to me, was a sort of mental gateway drug into finally releasing my work onto streaming platforms, but apparently everybody liked it so much that it's won song of the month!
But if there's one thing I've learned, it's that there is no winning, and that there is no top. When you reach the peak of a mountain, it only gives you a better view of the taller ones waiting to be climbed.
More Lest coming soon."
(also, I’m aware it wasnt on this month’s letter and instead on February, but as it was properly released this month it was eligible, and won the vote.)
