DID YOU MISS ME??????
Look, I wont bore ya with the BS. I’m unprofessional enough as it is. So, lets get into the content of August.
AUGUST RELEASES
FINAL FATAL LIVEJOURNAL ENTRY - bonfires of ‘98
I have always found a lot of love for Caleb’s music, reminding me the charm and love that can be put into simple singing into the microphone in your bedroom. This two song single is extremely charming, and catchy as hell. I feel it went under the radar a bit as Caleb is always doing cool stuff with his bands (check it out, btw) but I wanted to remind you guys to listen to this absolutely lovely little single.
smoker (the circus song) - Holdern
Charlie bangs onto the scene in this debut track and immediately hooks you in with the guitarwork. It’s truly one of those songs where instead of re-listening to read the lyrics, (which happens still) you end up looping it to hear all of the intricate guitar lines and peel back the noise and appreciate the work put into it. It makes me feel dumb, honestly. Electric guitars are so scary to me.
Get excited too, cause Holdern has already announced a follow up. We’ve got our eyes on you, Charlie.
Premier Inn - Good Kid (Acoustic Cover ft. Chaz) by Sir Sunlight
I think acoustic covers of indie rock songs are the most fun things out there. The addiction of being a little too tired for the overdriven guitars and crispy vocals but in the perfect mood for a gentle acoustic cover with the rich wooden percussion is a great (in my opinion) alternative on a long homework night ahead of you.
So Sir Sunlight returns with another one, with Chaz! Is there any two names more synonymous with Good Kid covers? It’s a great listen, friends. A good binger of a channel too!
Spill My Brains - Cash E. Music
Cash and their stunning hair have finally returned with a heartbreaking, gut wrenching, tear jerking tune with lyrics that sound like the things I send to my friends at 2 am. The chorus is just so infectious and I’ve found myself singing this tune subconsciously almost every day since it dropped. I heard this one a couple months ago in an Orchestra Concert Night and even then did I get obsessed with the chorus, but forgetting where I heard it from! It was a pleasant surprise to hear this as it came out.
Overall, I’m a big fan of Cash and their stuff. Really gentle loving work with a lot to throw at you for years to come.
My Self Fulfilling Tragedy - Skulltalk ft. Starving Narcissist
From Skulltalk:
“My Self Fulfilling Tragedy is track three of an album I have been torturing myself through making, an album about confrontations between friends, lovers, family, or self, whether it’s hypothetical or biographical.
Track three, coming to you on friday, is a confrontation of defeat, submission & surrender to the one you truly believed could’ve been “the one.” Knowing the ship has sunk, asking for the coast guard to tell it to you straight: Nobody’s coming.”
I really hope you enjoyed the tiny taste of the upcoming album. I’m working hard, friends.
(Welcome To) The Apocalypse - Gabe Connelly
Gabe opens up with the new album’s lead single, an ominous track of terror, destruction, and the apocalypse (obviously). I really liked the lead guitars towards the end, maybe because I’m a sucker for a simple lead guitar line you can hum easily but also because the tone was spot-on.
Go listen :)
Cash E. Music - Tossing Hearts, Throwing Knives (Album)
From Cash:
“Tossing Hearts, Throwing Knives!!! I'm very excited for people to hear my debut album, as it feels a lot more cohesive than my other projects, and has been very cathartic for me to tell a more connected story rather than just pieces of one. I hope that it can bring you at least some of the same solace it has brought me, or at the very least be some bangers to keep on in the background B)”
From Skull:
I think this album is incredibly well put together and was a great session of meditation to listen to while having my legs soaked in the lake. Theres plenty of catchy bits and bobs with classic emo folk percussions and overall a stellar performance from Cash. I’ll find myself replaying this one quite often.
Go listen now, friends.
TEASERS, AUGUST RUMORS!
First thing’s first- Nova’s off the table for a good while. A well deserved break. But after his appearance on MSFT, theres a little bit of buzz of a isolated single on the way later this year. That’s before Nova hits the hibernation button for good and STARVENARC 3 comes out in 2046.
(psst, more on this in Teasers)
Edas Saltenis has announced the debut album; “The Sky’s A Ghost Town” with a cheeky little leak. I swear, this guy doesn’t stop working. An honourable work ethic- did I mention that hes also mixing the Winter City Gardens music AND producing for the Skulltalk album?
Thank god he’s too nice to charge us.

SONG OF THE MONTH - AUGUST
Spill My Brains - Cash E. Music
I really love this track a lot. And you should, too. Go stream it!!
What does Cash have to say about receiving this honour?
“i love when my brains go all over the ground and they get spilt"
“the song has no deeper meaning about being treated unfairly in your relationship :D”
Make sure to presave the new Cash album, and I’ll be seeing you guys sooner than you expect. Time goes quick, friends.
